Fees & Rebates
I offer both therapy and ADHD coaching, and they work a little differently when it comes to funding – so here’s how each one works.
Therapy fees
50-minute online session: $200
Medicare rebate: $87.25
Out-of-pocket: $112.75
50-minute face-to-face session: $225
Medicare rebate: $112.40
Out-of-pocket: $112.60
Face-to-face sessions are held at Varsity Lakes, with outdoor sessions in the surrounding parklands. Telehealth is via secure video call, Australia-wide.
How Medicare rebates work
With a current Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral from your GP (or psychiatrist/paediatrician), you can claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year under Better Access. Your referral doesn’t have to be addressed to me specifically. Rebates are processed by Medicare after your session.
Not sure how to arrange an MHTP? It’s usually a quick chat with your GP, and I’m happy to guide you.
Other therapy funding
- NDIS: self- and plan-managed participants welcome; no gap fees. Get in touch to discuss your plan before booking.
- DVA: mental health referrals accepted with no gap fee.
- WorkCover QLD: referrals accepted with no gap fee.
- Victim Assist QLD: approved provider with no gap fee.
- Private health: some funds rebate Accredited Mental Health Social Worker services, including Bupa, HCF, Teachers Health, Doctors’ Health and St Lukes, plus many regional funds (via the Australian Regional Health Group). Cover varies, so check with your fund. You can’t claim both Medicare and private health for the same session.
No referral needed – you’re welcome to see me privately; your sessions simply won’t attract a rebate.
Coaching fees
ADHD coaching is $200 online and $225 face-to-face – the same as therapy.
Face-to-face sessions are held at Varsity Lakes, with outdoor sessions in the surrounding parklands. Telehealth is via secure video call, Australia-wide.
Coaching isn’t a Medicare-rebatable service (it’s not clinical therapy under Better Access), so it’s either self-funded or, for eligible employees, funded through the EAF.
Funding coaching through the EAF
The Employment Assistance Fund (EAF) is an Australian Government program run through JobAccess. For eligible employees it can fund ADHD coaching as a workplace support (currently up to around $1,680 a year). You may be eligible if you have an official diagnosis and you’re employed or self-employed for a minimum of 8 hours per week.
You apply through JobAccess; once approved, you pay for your session and JobAccess reimburses you. Eligibility and amounts are set by JobAccess and can change – more at jobaccess.gov.au, and I’m happy to support you through the application.
Cancellation policy
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged at the full fee, as that time is held for you.
